Feet, Core & Breath: A Deeper Understanding Workshop

“Everything is connected — but what does that actually mean?”

In every Pilates class, you’ll hear cues like “breathe,” “engage your core,” and “ground through your feet.” They’re fundamental to the way we move, yet there’s rarely time during a class to explore why they matter.

This 80-minute workshop gives you the opportunity to slow down, become curious, and develop a deeper understanding of the systems that support every movement you make.

We’ll begin with breath, exploring lateral thoracic breathing and discovering how your diaphragm influences posture, stability and movement throughout the body.

From there, we’ll move to your feet—your body’s foundation. Using gentle myofascial release and mobility exercises, you’ll improve awareness, restore movement and experience how changes in your feet can influence everything above them.

Finally, we’ll explore the core. Rather than thinking only about your abdominal muscles, you’ll discover how the diaphragm, pelvic floor, deep abdominal muscles and spine work together as one integrated system. We’ll also look at how pelvic position affects spinal movement and why efficient core function is about coordination rather than tension.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll begin to connect the dots, experiencing how your breath, feet and core are not separate pieces of the puzzle, but one intelligent, interconnected system.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of how your body creates stability and movement.
  • Practical techniques you can use immediately in class and everyday life.
  • Greater body awareness and confidence in applying Pilates principles.
  • A guided body scan to help reinforce what you’ve learned and integrate the experience.

Whether you’re new to Pilates or have been practising for years, this workshop will help you move with greater ease, purpose and understanding.

Make Friends With the Reformer

A 70-minute supported introduction

Curious about the Reformer but feeling a little unsure? You’re not alone

This workshop is designed especially for those who feel anxious, intimidated, or simply want to understand the Reformer before joining regular classes. Tina will lead a friendly, relaxed 70-minute session designed to take the mystery out of the Reformer and introduce you to one of the most intelligent and effective pieces of exercise equipment ever created.

Tina is a classically trained Pilates instructor with a beautifully precise and detail-focused teaching style — which makes her absolutely perfect for introducing you to the Reformer properly, from the very beginning.

Unlike the standard 50-minute Reformer classes, this is a 70-minute workshop — which means loads of hands-on support, guidance, and time to ask questions.

Many people who’ve come to 1:1 Reformer sessions with me have shared the same worries:

“Will I be okay?”
“What if I do it wrong?”
“What if I break the equipment?”

Good news — you won’t.

In this workshop you will:

🌿 Meet the Reformer — understand what it is, how it works and why it is so effective

🌿 Learn how to set it up safely and adjust the springs for your body

🌿 Be guided through the fundamental Reformer exercises with full attention on form and technique

🌿 Understand how the Reformer complements your mat practice or any other movement you do

🌿 Leave feeling confident, informed and genuinely excited about what comes next

Before you talk yourself out of it

👉 “It looks really complicated and a bit terrifying.”

Every single person who has ever loved the Reformer said exactly this before their first session. Tina will have you feeling completely at ease within minutes. Promise.

👉 “I’m a complete beginner.”

Perfect. This workshop is designed specifically for you. No prior Pilates experience needed whatsoever.

👉 “I have injuries or health conditions.”

Please email us at office@pilatesflow.uk before booking so we can make sure this workshop is the right fit for your specific situation. If you have had recent surgery or have been advised not to exercise please check with your GP first.

📌 What to bring:

— Grip socks — essential and non-negotiable 🧦

— Comfortable clothes you can move freely in

— Water

— Yourself and a little curiosity 😊

The Reformer has been waiting for you. Come and meet it properly. 🌿

FREE Ladies-Only Introduction to Pilates Workshop

Have you been Pilates-curious for a while but never quite taken the leap? 😊

This one is for you.

Join me for my FREE Ladies-Only Introduction to Pilates Workshop. A relaxed, friendly, absolutely no-commitment session where you can come exactly as you are, try something brilliant and see what all the fuss is about.

I’m Anna, a qualified Pilates Teacher, Advanced Personal Trainer and Menopause Movement Coach, and I have designed this workshop specifically for women. Not just the movements, but the whole conversation around what our bodies actually need, especially during perimenopause and menopause.

In this session, we will cover:

🌿 A gentle introduction to the fundamental Pilates movements

🌿 How Pilates benefits women’s health and wellbeing in ways that go far deeper than fitness

🌿 How perimenopause and menopause affect the body, and how intelligent movement genuinely helps

And before you talk yourself out of it, let me answer the questions I hear most often:

👉 “I’m not flexible enough for Pilates!”

Pilates is actually HOW you become more flexible. We start exactly where you are. Always.

👉 “I have back pain and old injuries. Is it safe?”

If you are cleared to exercise by your doctor, then yes, absolutely. The most common orthopaedic conditions and injuries are covered beautifully by Pilates. I’ll walk you through modifications and show you how to work with your body’s unique needs, not against them. (I’m not a physiotherapist, so if you haven’t been cleared to exercise yet, please check with your GP first! 😊)

👉 “I’ve had a hip replacement, spinal surgery or more serious medical treatment. Can I still do Pilates?”

Absolutely YES! Pilates can be truly wonderful for you. But this particular event is a large group FREE workshop and is not designed to focus on individual complex conditions. In a group this size, I simply cannot give your situation the specific attention it deserves. If this is you, please visit my website to check personal training options instead, where we can work together one-to-one with full focus on your unique needs. 👉

👉 “I’m a complete beginner, will I be completely lost?”

This session is built for you. I’ll go step by step through the fundamental principles, and even if you never come back (though I hope you do!), what you learn here will improve how you move everywhere else in your life.

👉 “I’m too busy to commit to regular classes.”

This workshop is just 75 minutes, and there is zero commitment involved; just come, try it and see. And for what it’s worth, we don’t do memberships or block bookings at Pilates Flow either. As a busy mum myself, I built the whole thing around real life. 😄
