Hi, I’m Björn – Pilates Teacher & Breathwork Specialist
I’m proud to be part of the Pilates Flow team, bringing together everything I’ve learned from over a decade of exploring movement and breath.
My journey didn’t start in a Pilates studio. It started behind a desk. Years of minimal movement through university and a career in software development caught up with me, and I hit 99kg at what I can only call my “aha moment.” Something had to change, or I felt — at the time — it would become irreversible.
The gym never stuck for me. What I actually needed was structure and a real challenge, so in 2010 I found that in Krav Maga. It worked — I lost weight, got stronger, and found a discipline I could commit to. But along the way, I also picked up injuries.
In 2017, I moved to the UK to be with Anna, now my wife. She pointed me toward brilliant people in body mechanics — trainers, physios, and massage therapists — who helped me properly rebuild, not just push through.
Breathwork came into my life a little differently. I first found pranayama before the pandemic, during my yoga teacher training. Then COVID hit, and it hit my respiratory system hard — I was already asthmatic, if well managed, and dealing with long-term sinus issues. My asthma got so much worse that I ended up back on medication. Looking for a way through, I found Oxygen Advantage, and it changed things enough that I trained to become an instructor myself.
At the end of 2019, I left the tech industry behind for good to work alongside Anna full-time — first teaching Krav Maga, and now, together, building Pilates Flow.
These days, we’re also kept busy by our son, soon to turn six, who keeps us both refreshingly honest about what “balance” actually means.
All of it shapes how I teach today. I know what it’s like to live with pain and limited movement, so I’m deeply empathetic with students working through injuries or just struggling to get moving again — every “I can do that again” moment genuinely means something to me.
And because I know first-hand how transformative something as simple as your breath pattern can be — for energy, sleep, and calm — I love sneaking a little breathwork into class.
Most people never go looking for it specifically, so I’m happy to be the one who introduces it.
Come say hello in class — I’d love to help you find your own way of moving, and breathing, well.
